We’ll be handing out awards in five categories (see below) in our first annual Gardenista Considered Design Awards contest. The competition is open to anyone with an indoor or outdoor garden, and winners will receive a handmade Casamidy lantern. Pennington Smart Feed is our partner for the Awards. Entries due by June 14. Our five contest categories cover some of our favorite aspects of outdoor living. We are inviting entries from all readers–city dwellers with fire escape gardens, gardeners with enviable vegetable patches or prize roses, and landscape designers and architects who use Gardenista for inspiration. The contest categories are:
Best Architectural Garden Feature – Garden Gates, Pergolas, Trellises, Driveways, Paths, Stairs, Fountains, Swimming Pools.
Best Indoor Garden – Houseplants, Tabletop Gardens, Greenhouses, Terrariums, Cut Flower Arrangements, Tablescapes with Plants and Flowers, Windowsill Gardens.
Best Urban Garden – Window Boxes, Balconies, Fire Escapes, Roof Gardens, Front Stoops.
Best Edible Garden – Vegetable Patches, Herb Gardens, Raised Beds, Fruit Trees, Kitchen Gardens.
Best Outdoor Room – Outdoor Kitchens, Sitting Rooms, Outdoor Showers & Baths, Tea Houses, Decks & Patios, Cabanas & Pool Pavilions.
And for the interiors enthusiasts among us, head over to the Remodelista Considered Design Awards, seeking projects in five other categories.
We’ve done our best to make the entry process simple: Submit up to six photos of your space along with a brief design statement. Gardenista editors will review all entries and choose up to five finalists in each category. When we announce our finalists, friends, family, and fellow Gardenista readers will be invited to vote. You can enter up to ten times in total across both sites. All projects will be published at the conclusion of the contest.
