Wimbledon Residence

We wanted to breathe new life into the house by restoring it to its former glory and make this a welcoming, warm family home for our clients and their small children. The large hallway was our starting point where we designed 1930s-style wall panelling that would echo the building’s former life. Inspired by the grandeur of some of our favourite hotels, we designed a mosaic floor that would set the tone for the house upon entry.
Period features were reintroduced throughout the main house in the form of statement cast iron radiators, 1930s style cornicing, ceiling roses, replica 1930s timber windows, and a five-finger parquet which provides warmth and interest but also a sense of time and place.

Wimbledon Residence II

This was the second time we worked together with the client at the Wimbledon residence and we were delighted to continue renovate their beautiful home. This time we redesigned their existing loft which had a very peculiar shape and made it very difficult to work with. We removed some dormers and created a larger opening at the back to create a large master bathroom, bedroom, dressing area and a study. The clients have a young family and both have demanding jobs therefore we wanted to create a space for them to find calm and peace.

Paddington Residence

We wanted to completely transform this pied-a-terre for our clients by reinstating all of the original features typical to London terraced houses of this period that had been lost during previous renovations. We carefully considered the design and layout of the flat together with the proportions of the flooring, panelling, ornate plasterwork and fireplace to restore the original character of the flat and create a timeless, elegant space for them to enjoy.

Wandsworth Maisonette

This amazingly located ex-council house in Wandsworth needed some attention to make it a comfortable and inspiring space for a couple about to welcome their first child. The proportions had to be carefully considered and colour was a key feature in our scheme. The house lent itself to playful approach and patterns and bolder colour were used to create interest and focus

Finsbury Park

The owners of this beautiful Victorian house just a stone throw from Finsbury Park wanted to inject some colour and playfulness into their home. They are both vintage lovers and were keen for us to source accordingly. The couple wanted us to create a memorable space to host guests as well as beautiful and practical bedrooms for them and their daughter.

Islington Townhouse

We worked alongside Dominic McKenzie Architects on the complete renovation of this beautiful Victorian property. Our vision was to create a space which was functional for a family but also sophisticated and timeless. The flow of the house needed to be carefully considered to ensure enough storage was created, and everyone’s needs were met.

Wandsworth Townhouse

Our clients wanted a playful and very functional space; both avid cooks and readers, they wanted their hobbies to become the centre stage of their home but keeping in mind that the house needed to function well for a growing family. Working closely with our clients, we created a colour scheme suited to their tastes and desires to be surrounded by vibrant colours and patterns.

Brixton Townhouse II

This Victorian terrace in the heart of Brixton needed a lot of work. Over the last few decades, many of the original features had been stripped out – leaving the spaces cold and lacking character. An outdated kitchen extension at the rear of the property also needed a complete rethink. By reintroducing some of the original architectural features to the building such as ornate ceiling roses, victorian-style skirting and exposing the original floorboards we began to bring the soul of this house back to life.

Notting Hill Townhouse

This beautiful Victorian Townhouse situated in the heart of bustling Notting Hill had not long ago been renovated by a prestigious architectural practice and, therefore, did not require much in the way of renovation work. However, the clients were keen to bring their new home more inline with their more colourful and playful style.
Working closely with our clients, we created a colour scheme throughout that would bring a sense of fun and vibrancy. Taking inspiration from French wallpapers and patterns, we introduced wallpapers from the Arts & Crafts movement into key areas – giving the spaces a crossover between French and English style.

Battersea Townhouse

This particularly beautiful Victorian terraced house which sits between Battersea and Clapham was in need of an update and to be brought in line with our clients’ lifestyle and tastes. The house benefited from some beautiful original features which we kept as a backdrop for the new scheme. Our clients wanted something that would be sympathetic to the style of the house – an appreciation of the building’s history – but also reflect their more modern and minimalist style.

HAMPSTEAD RESIDENCE

2018 | Hampstead, London, UK

Our client, who had recently purchased this gorgeous Victorian property, decided to reconfigure the building into one rental flat, a home home office/ guest flat and a maisonette for herself. Working alongside her architectural team, we were commissioned to design the scheme and specify the furniture, fixtures and fittings in a way that would tie all the areas of this unique layout together.

Using a beautiful grey terrazzo in the kitchen and bathrooms gives continuity, as well as the beautiful golden oak that acts as a consistent theme through the space, coupled with accents of brass and copper to bring a sense of warmth and luxury. We selected a soft blue for the walls which serves as the backdrop to a unique wall sculpture inspired by nearby Hampstead Heath by Kaori Tatebayashi. The soft shades combined with the grain of natural timber exudes a serene calm, while carefully crafted details add personality and a feeling of sophistication. Click here to see more images.

BRIXTON FAMILY HOME

2017 | Brixton London, UK

We were asked to redesign and refurbish this beautiful but run-down Victorian property in this vibrant part of south London. Our clients wanted a pared-back, light and neutral look that would be a calming sanctuary from the busy city outside and also enable them to exhibit key personal pieces of furniture and art.

Working closely with them, we extended the ground floor to create a light and airy open-plan kitchen, reconfigured the first-floor to allow for an ensuite bathroom to the master bedroom, converted the loft to add extra space for their growing family, as well as, digging down to create a basement laundry room. The house still had some of its original features and it was important to keep these. Using clever joinery, a thoughtful layout and considered materials gave our clients exactly the look and feel they were after while remaining sympathetic to the original style of the house. KENTISH TOWN DUPLEX

2015 | Kentish Town, London, UK

The owners of this stunning Victorian terrace property, a young professional couple, sought a calm space to wind down and sanctuary from the hectic city life. Working with the original features of the room, including high ceilings, wooden floors and an abundance of natural light from the beautifully tall sash windows, we used a blend of Scandinavian and Mid-Century design to create a stylish yet relaxing environment. The room came together with a combination of handcrafted pieces, natural materials and vintage finds which worked in harmony and sympathetically with the architectural style of the building. BOROUGH OFFICE

2019 | Borough, London, UK

In partnership with TOG (The Office Group), with whom we offer a consultancy service to businesses, we were asked by our client to style and part-furnish this small office in the Borough High Street location. The space was very minimalistic and the client wanted to add some personality and comforts from home while remaining in keeping with the overall style of the building. We sourced a vintage mid-century sideboard for storage, accessories for the desks, a hook system for bags and coats, as well as bringing in some greenery with carefully chosen house plants and pots. FINSBURY PARK BATHROOM

2018 | Finsbury Park, London, UK

Indie & Co were thrilled to be commissioned by the founder of Vinterior to design and refurbish her family bathroom. Our client already had a beautiful home and incredible taste but felt that she needed a professional to take on the bathroom design. With her clear love of period styles and a passion for travel, we took our inspiration from Art Deco hotel rooms, typical to New York and Paris.

Using a predominantly monochrome palette, we brought warmth, sophistication and a sense of history to the scheme using brass fittings and a vintage Mid-Century sideboard sourced by Vinterior. The use of white subway tiles and vintage pieces coupled with modern fittings gave the perfect balance between old and new. Click here to see more images.

REGENT STREET OFFICE

2017 | Regent Street, London, UK

We were excited to be asked to redesign and style this office in a co-working space, in the heart of London. The space was limited but needed to work hard for the company using it. The clients wanted four desks with a view and a seating area to entertain clients, as well as storage for coats and bags. Clever redesign of the layout managed to achieve everything on the client’s wishlist. Using bold, soothing colour on two feature walls and joinery, helped give a sense of calm, as well as cleverly zoning-off the different areas. The use of wood and Mid-Century pieces gave the room a sense of style and individuality, moving it far away from the usual humdrum of office interiors and helping the company communicate its brand to visiting clients – creating a more inspiring environment for the staff.
