Last week, while attempting to depict a Sol LeWitt-inspired carving on a pumpkin with a cheap drugstore knife, I discovered the importance of quality pumpkin carving tools.
So when I spotted these more professional options, I knew I had to share them with my fellow carvers.
Above: The handmade Pumpkin Carving Knife Set includes seven interchangeable blades: three narrow, three wide, and one lockjaw wrench for changing out blades. The handle is made from black walnut wood with a brass three-way chuck. Made in the US, the set is $24 from Terrain.
Above: Williams-Sonoma’s Pumpkin Carving Kit features four stainless steel classic tools (including the very important scooping tool); contact local stores for pricing and last minute availability.
Above: The Xacto Carving Tool Set is specifically for three-dimensional carving techniques. With blades made from steel and hardwood handles, the set is $22.38 from Amazon.
