Located on a sweeping lawn on the South Fork of Long Island, this gracious weekend house by Bay Area architect Jerome Buttrick of Buttrick Wong Architects echoes the Shingle Style aesthetic of the last century (described by Vincent Scully as “the architecture of the American summer”).The classically proportioned house features a single long gable, shingled in cedar, and white clapboard siding; Marvin double-hung windows and swinging French doors add a traditional note.
