Calling All Botanists: Herbarium Collection Box

August 31, 2012

We were thrilled to learn the other day that couture stationer Russell+Hazel is venturing beyond office organizers—to head into the garden. While sleuthing at the International Gift Fair in New York, Margot spotted the company’s new system for herbarium collectors:

Above: The acrylic Large Herbarium Collection Box has polished nickel hinges and comes with 50 11-inch by 17-inch sheets of paper for preserving and drying plant specimens. It’s $130 from Russell+Hazel.

Above: Specimens can be affixed with tape or rubber cement, and each paper insert has a cover on which to record a description of the plant.

Above: Botany 101. The cover sheets encourage detailed physical descriptions.

Above: A small acrylic box to store curiosities served as inspiration.
