Véra Kempf, Denis Fayolle, and Brice Lecompte founded online art gallery Singulart in 2017, with a mission to empower artists and transform the art market. The mission spoke to artists from 146 countries and made it possible for art collectors in more than 100 countries across the globe to curate their lives with art. With over 12,000 artists and nearly 2 million visitors per month, Singulart reaches art lovers around the world. Most recently, the company launched a new platform called balthasart, an online gallery dedicated to up-and-coming artists as well as young art collectors.
Here’s a look at a few sculptural pieces, both for the indoors and outdoors:
Above: Spiralloop is a variation of the Möbius loop, made from Italian Carrara marble. It is approximately circular (26 inches) in silhouette and only 4 inches deep. The machining marks with the diamond cutting disc have been left in place and underline the flowing shape. Created by Klaus W Rieck in Germany. Above: Les bénitiers by Juliette Delecour is based on the idea of the Holy water fonts, religious objects that the artist likes to rethink in order to question the sacred in art. The marks that the water leaves on its edge indicate a form of time, of disappearance, of the contact of the hand. Nearly 40 inches tall, it is offered for $2,900. Above: Prana by Andrea Serra is a handmade sculpture of Lecce stone inspired by”Prana,” the vital breath and the energy that gives origin and constantly moves the universe. Illuminated from within by an LED strip of warm white light (modifiable color tone on request), the Prana lamp is made from stone that is found only in very few areas of southern Italy, in the lower Salento in the province of Lecce. This particular stone of marine origin is rich in plant and animal fossils dating back several million years ago. The sculpture is nearly 40 inches tall and 15 inches wide, and is offered at $4,970. Above: Im Zentrum by Thomas Welti is an abstract interpretation of the human figure rendered in marble. “The human figure dissolves and jumps into the object,” says the artist, a Swiss sculptor who has exhibited his works nationally. The main theme of his work is the human body, especially the female nude, which is presented in a slightly abstract form. His sculptures radiate both harmony and sensuality and impress the connection between abstraction and figuration, where the tension between is made visible. Welti creates using terracotta, resin, clay, stone, and marble. The sculpture is 14 inches tall, and priced at $4,710. Above: Il foro dell’ago by Antonio Mele ($4,440) is made with a volcanic rock from the Campi Flegrei volcanic area near Naples. The work has been completely excavated inside and has a large hole at the top and another small one at the bottom. Its appearance is abstract and is meant to convey the Zen concept of emptiness in fullness. It is roughly 18 inches tall and weighs about 30 kg. The work is part of the group “The Family,” an installation in progress composed of various sculptures made of trachyte with different shapes, sizes, and colors.
