A recent search for outdoor fabric brought me back to an old favorite, Lulu DK. Designer Lulu de Kwiatowski was raised in a city manse with interiors by legendary social decorator Sister Parish, whose influence you can see in Lulu DK’s uptown townhouse-meets-boho-Paris aesthetic. As the trend for outdoor rooms has developed, Lulu DK has kept right up, expanding her outdoor fabric collection to include more stripes and simple geometrics. Her stain-, UV-, water-, and mildew-resistant 100 percent acrylic outdoor fabrics are approximately $140 a yard from Hinson & Company in New York (212) 475 4145. For other showrooms, go to Lulu DK.

Below: A more budget-friendly option is outdoor fabric from Sunbrella, the original source. The classic Sunbrella canvas is available in 50 colors for $18.95 a yard.
