Cast-Iron Fire Bowl at DWR

June 17, 2010

The Cast Iron Fire Bowl can be used as a grill or as a fire pit to warm your outdoor gatherings (Sarah has one in her Napa Valley backyard). The lower bowl collects ash and elevates the flames off the ground to dissipate heat.

Above: The cone grate in the upper bowl creates an air pocket from which the fire can draw, while also creating a more efficient burn, by focusing the fire into the center.

Above: The Cast Iron Fire Bowl is 23 inches in diameter; it’s $465 at Design Within Reach.

Above: An optional Stainless Steel Grill Top is $110.
