Back to basics: here’s a simple, pleasing balcony garden you can create on a budget (renters, take note).

We spotted the setup in A Glamorous Studio Apartment in Auckland That Feels Like a One-Bedroom, featured today on Remodelista. New Zealand-based designer Karin Montgomery Spath, who has a knack for transforming the tiniest spaces into irresistible homes, kitted out this balcony to expand the living space of a 323-square-foot studio.
