San Francisco is renowned for its classic Victorian and Edwardian houses; however, it is refreshing to see a homeowner add a modernist touch to a historic facade. We love the look of this cheery entryway, featuring a lime-green door with simple satin chrome lever handle, a glass star chandelier, and crisp modern door numbers. For a look at the interior of this house by Feldman Architecture, see our previous post Architect Visit: Feldman Architecture.
We conferred with our favorite local paint expert, Philip Reno, founder of Philip’s Perfect Colors and owner of G & R Paint Company, and he recommended (above L) C2 Paint 458 Alloy for the exterior and (above R) Fine Paints of Europe E8-43 for the front door.
Above: Glass Star Chandelier, $185 from the Well Appointed House.
Above: Weston Letters offers house numbers in Deep Ribbon satin chrome; the six-inch-high numbers are $43 each.
Above L: The Atlanta Mortise Trim Entrance Set from Baldwin Hardware in satin chrome retails for approximately $775. Above R: We like the simple, brushed nickel Emtek 2280 Mail Slot; $60 from IQ Hardware.
