Trending on Remodelista: Smart Built-Ins

September 17, 2021

So many pretty designs over on Remodelista this week, but we were especially enamored with the built-in cabinets and furniture we spied. Here are some ideas to file away for future projects.

Above: In a minimalist kitchen, where most everything is hidden behind cabinet doors, the open inset shelving on one end is an appealing visual break. Photograph from Kitchen of the Week: A Clean, Well-Lighted Space in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn.
Washers and dryers can be so bulky and off-putting. Enclosing them in cabinets keeps them out of sight. Photograph by Thomas Richter, courtesy of White Arrow, from New English: A Falling-Down \1850s Farmhouse in Westchester, Transformed by a Pair of Designers.

We love this especially deep banquette seating for curling up with a good book. Photograph by Adam Firman, courtesy of Red Deer, from All Things Should Have Stories: A Richly Hued London Flat (With an Ikea Kitchen Too).
