Description from Design Within Reach
Greg Benson and Jeff Taly believe that “using green products should not mean that you have to sacrifice anything; it should be better in every way than its non-eco-friendly counterpart.” This philosophy has informed their path from designing skateboard parks to outdoor furniture. Using the same materials that proved virtually indestructible when skated upon, they created the Adirondack Collection (2008), made of recycled plastic reclaimed from post-consumer goods (like milk jugs), which can be recycled again if necessary. “Our first chairs looked a lot like our skate ramps,” says Benson, but they continued to refine the design into the collection seen here. Since Loll was founded in 2003, its use of recycled materials has kept more than 18 million milk jugs out of landfills. The all-weather Adirondack is fade resistant, waterproof and maintenance free. The pieces ship flat to save on packing materials. (An Allen wrench is included for simple assembly.) Made in U.S.A. DWR Exclusive
