Description from Betterbee
Bayberry is the only wax more expensive than beeswax, due to the process in which it is created. It is a green vegetable wax which is typically processed by boiling the berries of the wax myrtle shrub then skimming the filmy substance from the surface. Traditionally it was blended with beeswax for special Christmas tapers that are reputed to bring good luck for the New Year. Blending the two will also stretch the bayberry wax further, as it is quite strong when used by itself. Imparts a unique earthy smell to the candles which should not be overridden with other fragrances. Melting point is approximately 116° F (47° C).
