Made in a small town in the republic of Guinea known for its centuries-old indigo dyeing tradition, these are completely hand-made in Africa from 100% hand-spun, hand-woven, and hand-dyed cotton.
The mattresses are filled with Kapok, a silky 100% natural fibre. This fibre grows in the shell of the Kapok tree, known as the “cotton-silk” tree due to the very silky feel of the fibre. The picking, shelling and filling of the mattresses are done entirely by hand. The mattresses can be easily laid on a bench, piled on a daybed, or thrown on the lawn for a picnic.
