Description from Manufactum
The Christmas Tree Stand as a Work of Art.
This tripod is created in the workshop of the metal designer Berthold Hoffmann in Nuremberg. Hoffmann uses heavy-duty, dark cast iron for pots, pans and roasters but not for Christmas tree stands. These are made of semi-finished brass which is soldered and then finely polished. Although the appearance is almost filigree, the collar rests on three legs with a total weight of four kilogrammes. The stand will hold trees up to 2 meters in height. The trunk of the tree is held securely by three sturdy wingnuts made of stainless steel.
