Description from Kaufmann Mercantile
Safe, non-toxic alternative to paraffin. Burns longer in the same light spectrum as the sun. 100% pure beeswax and cotton wicks, 6-pack. Handmade in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
Beeswax candles burn rounded yellow flames in the same light spectrum as the sun, but they are more than just a homey glow. A beeswax candle burns up to three times longer than the commonly used paraffin candles. Besides being more efficient, beeswax candles are free of the toxicity of paraffin, a byproduct of petroleum, that releases some of the same carcinogenic fumes as automobile exhaust.
In Oregon, a single bee colony produces an average of 2 pounds of wax per year. The company that makes these candles began as a bee farm, but the candle-making operation outstripped their bees’ production of wax long ago. Collecting from bee farms primarily in the Pacific Northwest and always in the U.S., the candles from this company come from the hard work of nearly 5000 hives.
Tealights come in sets of six along with their own aluminum dishes, and burn for 4.5 to 5 hours each. A family-run operation based out of Cottage Grove, Oregon, the company makes all their candles on-site. The candles have a natural, honey-scented smell and a tactile, hand-made feel. The wicks are made with 100% cotton.
The tealights are packaged without plastic.
