Description from Uncommon Goods
Perfect for the backyard or beach, Kubb relies on precision and strategy for the win.
Like any yard game, Kubb is best enjoyed with friends and a cold beverage in hand. Unlike any yard game, Kubb encourages the throwing of sticks at other sticks. Charming in its simplicity and surprising in its challenges, this wooden game by Jeremy Exley is like a combination of bowling and horseshoes–and its origins can be traced back to the Vikings.
To play, players divide into two teams and set up their five kubbs in a line, all equidistant from each other. Stakes are placed on each corner of the playing field as a border and the king is placed in the center. The first team will then, one by one, throw their six batons at the kubbs, trying to knock them down. The turns go back and forth until finally all of one team’s kubbs have been knocked down.
