Description from Annie's Annuals & Perennials
One of the most useful herbs available, Lemon verbena features delicious lemony-scented leaves that are wonderful in teas, ice creams, potpourris, soaps & anything else that could use a punch of lemon. One of my favorite things to do with it is to simply scrunch up a few leaves & throw them into some cold water for a refreshing drink with a hint of lemon flavor. For those lucky enough to live in USDA zones 8 or higher, this plant is a deciduous perennial & can reach a whopping 4-6’ tall. Acts as an annual in all other zones, where it reaches a respectable 2-3’ tall in it’s first year. Grows beautifully in containers – making it easy to over-winter indoors. Insect resistant & virtually bunny-proof, this is a wonderful, low-maintenance herb. Performs best in full sun with average water.
