Description from Design Within Reach
Mogens Koch studied architecture under the renowned Kaare Klint – one of the forefathers of modern Danish furniture design – at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, later serving as a professor there for 18 years. As an architect, he worked with houses, monuments, furniture, textiles and much more. His furniture designs are some of the most elegant and important examples of Danish modern with respect to their clean lines and superb craftsmanship. His MK99200 (1932) is no exception, successfully balancing form and function. A tribute to the classic director’s chair, it’s comfortable and practical, with simple collapsible construction that allows easy storage when not in use. MK99200 has exceptionally smooth folding action thanks to its precision-mounted brass rings on all four legs and brass hardware, which help it lend an air of understated dignity to any room. Made in Denmark.
