LARGE NATURAL TURKISH TERRACOTTA OLIVE OIL JAR (circa 1920’s)
Our collection of olive oil jars and storage vessels hails from several regions of Turkey, offering decades of character and historical interest. Crafted from terracotta, these jars come in a range of sizes, with varied glazes and design details, but each with a unique story to tell. Their metal wire collar is used for export purposes and verifies their age and authenticity.
Historical Style: Classic
Condition Notes: A natural terra cotta finish with two bands and a tapered base, this Turkish jar was originally used to store olive oil. Please note has a surface chip near bottom. Wear is commensurate with age and use and adds to the overall character of the piece. See all photos for details.
