Chopping, Stacking and Drying Wood the Scandinavian Way
Lars Mytting (Author), Robert Ferguson (Translator)
The last couple of years have seen a revival in interest in using wood as a fuel and an accompanying interest in knowing more about the background to different wood types, how to prepare and store it, the different burning characteristics, smells and flames.
Scandinavia has long been the spiritual home of wood-lore and knowledge. This book has both practical, needful knowledge on working with wood for fuel, gleaned from a lifetime working with wood and drawing on the knowledge of generations of forebears and contemporary professionals who grew, cut, stacked and burned wood to a meditation on the deep-seated human need for warmth, fire and survival.
Lars Mytting was born in Fåvang, Norway in 1968. He is author and journalist. He has written two novels, both met with critical acclaim, and the first was sold to Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Finland. However, it was for Norwegian Wood, a work of non- fiction, that he became a household name.
