Description from Design Within Reach
Prizewinner in an exterior lighting competition hosted by Louis Poulsen, the Nyhavn Outdoor Wall Sconce (1976) was designed by Alfred Homann and Ole V. Kjær. Homann explains the duo’s concept for the sconce was primarily focused on making it compact and subtle. “It was important that the fixture was smaller and more discreet than the other products on the market at that time,” he says. Nyhavn is characterized by a broad cone-shaped shade with matte white painted underside for projecting soft, even light. Three rings on top minimize glare and also direct a small amount of light both outward and upward. Bulb (not included): incandescent 100W/A19/E26 or comparable CFL or LED. UL listed for use outdoors. Made in Denmark.
- Dimensions : H 8.5″ W 12.25″ D 17.5″, 12 lbs.
