COMMON NAME: Shenandoah Switch Grass
Excellent summer coloring and a striking habit make Shenandoah one of the top switch grass selections . Deep-green foliage which takes on a red coloring by mid-summer. The coloring will become more pronounced until it will be a deep burgundy-wine by September. Very similar in appearance to Imperata ‘Red Baron’ (Japanese blood grass) during the summer months. Tolerates a wide range of soil. Full sun to partial shade. Attracts birds and butterflies.
