Description from GrowOrganic.com
Spear & Jackson Tools Since 1760, Spear & Jackson of Sheffield, England, has been hand forging garden tools to last a lifetime. Although more expensive, they are preferred because they do not bend or fail like cheaper pressed steel tools. A forged tool is strong because it is formed from one thick piece of metal in several re-heating operations. There are no welds or joints. Please note, however, that even a forged tool can be damaged if used inappropriately. For example, a fork could bend if used to pry up an embedded boulder that should be dug out with a shovel.
Outstanding value in stainless steel forged tools. Attractive without sacrificing durability. Polished stainless steel heads are easy to clean and rust resistant. These are perfect for ground preparation, double digging and other digging jobs. One piece weather-proofed hardwood handle splits to form a wishbone handle. Note: these tools are not designed to be used on rocky soils. 3 can ship together.
