&Tradition Mega Bulb SR2 – Gold

The very first light light bulbs were beautiful hand made objects of wonderment, the very image of inspiration. The bulb walls were much thicker than today to bear the vacuum and contained the small irregularities that were the hallmark of hand blown glass. The Mega Bulb SR2 recaptures this beautiful imperfection, designed by Danish light artist Sofie Refer to emulate those early bulbs and further the Nordic glass making tradition the light is a song of sand, soda and chalk carried on the breath of the glass master. The SR2 is the big sister to the earlier very successful SR1 which was the deserving recipient of numerous awards. Both lights have a porcelain lamp holder and are available in a variety of cable colours but the SR2 also comes in three different glass finishes, clear, silver and gold all of which are perfectly suited to either hand wound bulbs with their soft vintage glow or the white heat of a modern halogen. The SR2 is about reinvention, bringing a new audience and relevance to the humble old light bulb.
