Pinewood and natural manila hemp rope swing with circular base. Hand-constructed from reclaimed Pennsylvanian pine and finished with pure tung oil for water resistance. Each swing is unique and will vary slightly in grain texture.

This hanging tree swing with a circular base was created from wood that was reclaimed from a 19th century building in Philadelphia. The swing seat features the concentric rings of old growth pine, each line marking the passing of time. To protect this storied material, the swing seat is hand-finished with tung oil, which lends the wood a golden hue and makes the swing water-resistant. The wood swing seat hangs from a single sturdy line of manila hemp rope. This material is derived from the abacá plant, a species prized for being one of the strongest natural fibers. The rope has been tested to hold a capacity of 695 pounds, so kids old and young can enjoy the simple pleasure of swinging.
