We designed the Best Made Tri-Stone Sharpening Kit as the comprehensive Arkansas stone setup to take any edge from dead-dull to wicked sharp. Each stone is cut from an Arkansas quarry to our specifications: a good width for use with a variety of tools, the right length for a full-blade stroke, and enough thickness to last years of sharpening. The three stones form the ideal triad of grit, starting at Soft Arkansas to rough in the bevel angle, Hard Arkansas to refine the bevel, and Black Arkansas to get the edge sharp enough to shave a sleeping field mouse. Included is a classic Best Made tenugui with a two-tone dot pattern to maintain an orderly cleaning process, and premium honing oil to keep the pores of the natural stones clear, suspending the swarf for edge-polishing action. A laser-engraved hickory box houses it all, hardy to withstand the workshop environment, and well crafted with joinery details to deserve a place next to the kitchen knife block. The hickory tray with rubber insert and feet serves to anchor the stones on the countertop, keeping focus on your routine and technique.
