A few years ago, renowned designers and friends Carmine Deganello and Pablo Pardo set out to reimagine and redefine the primal lantern for the modern age. “It became clearly evident to us that light and sound technology were in a perfect trajectory to fuse and transform our perception about this ancient portable object,” explains Pardo. A seamless portable form that serves as both speaker and lamp, composed of a range of carefully fashioned components, Uma (2015) speaks to this materiality, providing high-end audio and warm illumination virtually anywhere you wish. It offers 360-degree sound with touch-sensitive volume control, Bluetooth connectivity for effortless music streaming, full-range dim control, a premium leather carrying strap and 8-hour battery life.
