Description from White Flower Farm
This species offers a completely different look in Verbenas. It grows fully 4-5ft tall and carries 2-3in clusters of pinkish purple blooms on wiry, self-supporting stems. The dark green leaves are very narrow and very sparse, so the plants are remarkably light and airy. An English gardening authority had called them 'see-through plants' because they can be put at the front of the border without blocking the plants behind. Plant in groups to create lilac haze, or scatter here and there to provide color through the dog days. Even mature gardens can accommodate this narrowly upright plant. A first-rate cut flower.
