Winter Protection Jute Garden Sack

You can best protect standard roses with their elevated grafting points by slipping a roomy sack made of jute over their crowns. And in contrast with a makeshift measure like a plastic bag, no fungal atmosphere is created underneath this air permeable natural material. Potted plants will also survive the winter in a sack padded with some straw or leaves as a buffer against the cold. The sacks will also protect smaller evergreens like boxwood from the winter sun.
