North Carolina leather crafter Wheeler Munroe has a workshop on a west-facing slope in the high mountains of Ashe County.

Made to order, a leather Farm Belt can be customized to hang over either the left or right hip.
A Farm Belt has “tailored pockets for pruners and scissor-snips, folding knife and pencils, plus large inner and outer pockets for keeping phone, tools, ties, and hardware close at hand,” says Wheeler Munroe.

Flower farmer Erin Benzakein sells a customized version of the Farmer Florist Belt (available for purchase via her Floret Flowers garden shop); the belt has “room for both heavy-duty pruners and flower snips or scissors, a cellphone, a pen and pencil and a rose stripper or hand trowel,” says Benzakein; $165.
Wheeler Munroe has been sewing since age 9.
