Out of the Closet: A Luxe Shed as Cedar Closet - Gardenista
“Modern armoire” sounds like an oxymoron.
From Manhattan-based designer Harry Allen for Matter, a one-of-a-kind shed “conceptualizes the traditional American vernacular and brings the storage shed indoors, creating a beautiful and functional addition to any home.”
Each one-of-a-kind cedar Shed measures 84.6 inches high, 55 inches wide, and 26 inches deep; $20,000 from Matter.
Harry Allen, founder of an eponymous design firm, is known for his furniture, lighting, and interior design projects.
The Shed, introduced in 2011, capitalizes on the fact that “the pattern, texture, and aroma of cedar are laden with pleasant associations,” says Allen.
