Plant Potion: Natural Skin Care from Horticulture - Gardenista
Concocted from natural ingredients in a backyard studio in Portland, Oregon, Horticulture Plant Potion face oil is a botanical blend of 14 oils “to make your skin look luminous,” says company founder Juree Sondker.
Sondker, an editor of horticultural books at Timber Press, began experimenting with plant oils “as I was turning 40, and wondering why am I not putting plants on my face instead of ingredients that aren’t natural?” she says:

About a year and a half ago, “I started experimenting and became excited about combining the most powerful plant oils in one product,” says Sondker.
Ingredients include three essential oils (lavender, neroli, and blood orange) and 11 other plant oils designed to heal and moisturize skin.
Horticulture Plant Potion is available in two sizes at prices from $32 to $78.
“At first I used it on myself. Then I gave it to my mom. Then to friends. Then friend with a boutique wanted to sell it,” says Sondker.
Sondker mixes small batches in her backyard studio.
Among the ingredients are meadow foam oil (“an amazing emollient,” says Sondker), rosehip oil (high in vitamin A), and medicinal herbs rosemary and lavender.
