Steal This Look: Sun Porch by Dale Saylor and Joe Williamson - Remodelista
Photography by William Waldron A while back I discovered Interiority Complex, a blog written by Dale Saylor (a Manhattan–based interior designer) and Joe Williamson (a landscape architect), which chronicles the restoration of the couple's 1827 center hall Colonial-style farmhouse in Columbia County, New York. The industrial-looking Decker End Table is made of rustic iron and mango wood; $398 at Anthropologie. Saylor and Williamson bought their late 19th century folding-cot daybed for $40 at a second-hand store; if you're not the scavenger type, the maple American Modern Daybed from Design Within Reach is a good option; $2,100. Saylor and Williamson found their industrial stools at a second-hand shop; an alternative is the Lyon Industrial Stool for $54.37. The Hans Wegner Folding PP-512 Chair for PP Møbler can be ordered through Scandinavian Design in New York; however, similar chairs can be found on eBay (which is where Saylor found his) or Craigs List by typing in the keywords "Danish Modern Folding Rope Chair." The one over-the-top indulgence in the room is an Hermès Wool and Cashmere Blanket in the luxury label's trademark shade of orange; $1,125 directly from Hermès. The Company Store offers the Hudson Merino Wool Blanket in an Hermès-inspired spice shade (top); the twin size is $70.99 (down from $79). Saylor and Williamson sourced their authentic, vintage grain sack pillow covers from local antiques dealer Stephanie Lloyd, who says, "For the past 12 years, my great love has been German grain sacks. My collection ranges from 1807 to 1930." Lloyd sells the sacks as is or makes them into pillows; go to Stephanie Lloyd to browse. For the checked daybed cushion cover, Saylor and Williamson sourced material from Beckenstein Fabrics in New York.
