Stylish Rain Gutters in Corten Steel, Aluminum, and Zinc by Jespersen Nødtvedt

When we reached out to founders Emil Jespersen and Marte Nødtvedt Skjæggestad to find out why, their response was simple: “We like gutters a lot. There’s just something magical about working with water and you can articulate certain places in the architecture with a special gesture at the entrance.” COR-TEN Steel Rain Gutter This is the image on Instagram that first captured our attention. The COR-TEN steel gutter was designed for a garden shed. From the project description: “The corten steel details are welded together with standard flat and U-shaped profiles, with the resulting kinks and overhangs leading the water out over the wood and into the gutter, and finally down the cylindrical downpipe.” A corrugated Aluzinc roof paired with a simple L-profile aluminum trough. Standard Rain Gutter, Lower Placement For this vacation home, they used “a standard zinc gutter and braces, but hung it lower than we are used to seeing,” they share. The house was inspired by traditional Japanese architecture. The architecture studio’s motto: “Buildings where materials and constructions are the architecture itself.”
